About

Who I am

I am a Computer Science student at Université Bordeaux 1, France. Starting September 2011, I will be at the University of California, Irvine as an EAP Reciprocity exchange student, studying CS, of course, but also some math and Japanese. Academically, I am mostly insterested in cryptography and computer security in general, and lately have developed an interest in embedded systems and electronics as well. When I’m not hacking on something, you would probably find me reading a good book (favourite authors include Hemingway, Lessing and Dahl) or wandering in mucky corners of the Internet. Much less importantly, I also happen to have neurofibromatosis, type 2 (aka NF2).

The quickest way to contact me is always email.

Why I created this blog

I’ve made a few attempts at having a blog in the past. All of them failed, due mostly to lack of interesting things to say. Hopefully my adventures in California and the advancement of my academic career will remedy this.

I expect this blog to be written mostly in English, but sometimes there may be entries written in the other languages I speak (presently French end German, but hopefully I will soon be comfortable enough with Japanese to write entries in it too). Since I don’t like repeating myself, I will not write the same entry in more than one language unless there is a good reason to.

What’s with the “version numbers”?

It’s just for fun, really. Occasionally, I will “bump” the version number that appears in the title of the main page. Generally, it will be to celebrate significant events, but it may also be “just because I feel like it”. You can find all the past version numbers, along with the date they were introduced and possibly a comment explaining the change in the changelog.
